CBS Boring & Machine Company, incorporated in June of 1967, specialized in providing products and services to the Special Machine Tool Industry. In 1974, the Company transitioned from a horizontal boring mill operation to CNC machining centers. Focus was redirected from a machine tool orientation to that of a leading high volume contract machining source. CBS specializes in the manufacture of power-train components including engine blocks, cylinder heads and transmission housings for the automotive, heavy duty diesel truck, agricultural and defense industries.

Over the past four decades, the Company has continually and successfully expanded its business and capabilities. CBS Boring & Machine Company currently operates 5 manufacturing plants in 3 states and currently supplies product to North America, Europe and Japan. Growth in 2002 placed CBS Boring & Machine Company in an elite group. Site Selection Magazine has recognized CBS Boring & Machine (See CBS news) in their yearly top 10 list for Facility expansions. This places the Company on a list with a select few that includes, among others, General Motors and Daimler Chrysler.
